About Cats for Kings

Hi, I'm Emily, the founder of Cats for Kings.

I started Cats for Kings in 2026 after experiencing an unimaginable loss. Three men I knew died by suicide in less than a year. Those tragedies forced me to confront a reality that too many families and communities face: many men struggle in silence because they fear judgment, believe they have to "stay strong," or don't know where to turn for help. I knew I couldn't change what had happened, but I could help create a future where fewer men feel alone.

That's why I founded Cats for Kings.

Our mission is to break the stigma surrounding men's mental health through education, awareness, accessible resources, and the unique comfort that cats can provide. Animals have an incredible ability to offer companionship without judgment. A cat's quiet presence, unconditional affection, and calming nature can provide comfort during life's most difficult moments. While a cat is never a substitute for professional mental health care, that connection can be an important source of hope, healing, and encouragement.

At Cats for Kings, we believe that asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness. We want every man to know that his story matters, his struggles are valid, and he never has to face them alone.

Our vision is to build communities where conversations about mental health are met with compassion instead of shame, where resources are easy to find, and where both people and animals can improve each other's lives.

Thank you for supporting Cats for Kings and helping us turn loss into lasting change.
